Buses to the Field

Buses will run from the Weber and the Best Western starting about 7:30.  Anyone can drive there and take the bus.

Weber’s Inn                                       Best Western
3050 Jackson Avenue                     2900 Jackson Avenue
Ann Arbor , MI 48103                        Ann Arbor , MI 48103

If you are coming to Ann Arbor or Saline from the airport, Canada , Detroit or even US23 you will be traveling on I94 in a west direction

For the hotels you would get off at Exit 172 which is Jackson Avenue

Turn left from the exit ramp and the first hotel is Best Western on your right about ¼ of a mile.  Weber’s Inn is about 1/8 of a mile more and is on your left.

We will have early buses for the hotels.  If you wanted to drive from the hotels, go about another ½ mile to Wagner Road and turn left (south).  Wagner merges with Ann Arbor Saline Road (three way stop signs).  At the next light, the intersection of Pleasant Lake Road and Ann Arbor Saline Road , is the Farm Council Grounds.

Let’s start by driving directly to the Farm Council Grounds

Going west on I94 you leave one exit before the hotels at Exit 175, which is Ann Arbor Saline Road .  Turn left at the end of the exit ramp towards Saline (although there are no street signs at the exit, it is Ann Arbor Saline Road ).  The Farm Council Grounds are 3.1 miles from I94.  Just before you get to the Farm Grounds, you will merge with Wagner Road (three way stop signs and is 2.6 miles from I94).  Bear left and stay on Ann Arbor Saline Road .  The Farm Council Grounds are the SE corner of the intersection of Pleasant Lake Road and Ann Arbor Saline Road .

Buses do not start from the Farm Council Grounds until 8:00 AM

From the Farm Council Grounds to Mill Pond Park (location of Festival) continue going south on Ann Arbor Saline Road to Bennett Street at Bennett turn right (west) and this street ends at the park

(if you get to Michigan Avenue you have gone too far and need to go back north three blocks)

The games are at Mill Pond Park.

Athlete Check/Weigh -in,  Dinner, etc.

Check-in/weigh-in will start at 4:00 pm at the Weber on Friday afternoon and continue for an hour or so (as long a Lori Henderson wants to hang around).  It will continue at the pub tent on the Festival grounds after 7:30 pm for a limited time.  It will also occur Saturday morning at the Weber until 8:00 am.  At check-in you will receive your wrist band and competition t-shirt.  A wrist band is required for entry to the festival grounds.  I will have bands for athletes and some family but not roadies - I have a limited number of wristbands.

Dinner is at the American Legion Hall at 6:00 pm on Friday for those who pre-paid.  There are no tickets available at the door.  Athletes - wear your kilt.  There will be a list of names at the door to determine entry - no tickets needed.

The Friday evening pub night tent (at the festival field) opens at 5:30 pm Friday and last call is at 11:30 pm
Mr. Pretty Legs Contest begins at 8:00pm
Live music and dance throughout the evening
Food vendors will be open.
The bar is a cash bar.
Entry is $5.  Athletes wearing kilts won't be charged to enter.

SMAI Board Meeting

There will be an informal meeting of any SMAI board members as well as any athletes interested in the future of the MWC at the Pub tent sometime after 7:30.
